Microsoft will cease issuing new certifications for the MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) programs from June 30, 2020. At the same time, exams related to these certifications will be canceled. This was announced by the CEO of the Microsoft Global Technical Learning Center Alex Payne (Alex Payne) in the Microsoft Learning blog.
Microsoft is moving entirely to Role / Specialization Certification. If necessary, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE certificates can be obtained until June 30, 2020 and they will be valid for two years until the end of June 2022. All scheduled exams must be passed before this deadline or certification will not be obtained.
There will also be no separate certifications for Windows Server 2019 or SQL Server 2019 as they are already included in the new Role / Specialization-based certification.
MCSA certifications (BI Reporting, Dynamics 365 for Operations, SQL 2016 BI Development, SQL 2016 Database Admin, SQL 2016 Database Dev, SQL Server 2012/2014, Universal Windows Platform, Web Applications, Windows Server 2012) and Windows Server 2016), MCSD (App Builder) and MCSE (Business Applications, Core Infrastructure, Data Management & Analytics and Productivity).
Microsoft's decisions to revoke old certifications and migrate do not affect Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications.
